Privacy Policy

Your information
stays with us.

What we collect, how we protect it, and why we never share it with anyone else.

Our commitment

We treat your information the way you’d want yours treated.

Cypher Research has been recruiting people for paid market research studies since 2006. Treating your information with care isn’t a feature we added — it’s the foundation of how this whole thing works. If we lost participants’ trust, we couldn’t do our job.

Below is a plain-English summary of what we collect, what we do with it, and what we’ll never do with it.

What we collect

Enough to reach you. Nothing more.

When you sign up to participate, we ask for the basics: your name, address, phone number, email, and a set of demographic and lifestyle questions used to match you to studies. As we work with you on individual studies, we may ask additional screening questions specific to that study.

We never ask for, and never store:

  • Social Security numbers
  • Bank account or credit card numbers
  • Passwords
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Any other highly sensitive identifiers

How we use it

Only for research recruitment.

The information you give us is used for one purpose: matching you to research studies you may qualify for, and contacting you about those studies. That’s it. We don’t use it for marketing, lead generation, or anything else.

Who sees what

Researchers and clients only see your first name and last initial.

When you participate in a study, the research team running it sees your responses, your first name, and your last initial. They do not see your last name, address, phone number, email, or any other identifying information.

Your full information stays with our internal recruiting team. Even within Cypher, only the recruiting and IT staff have access — not researchers, not clients, not anyone else.

How we protect it

HTTPS, encryption, and a small team with access.

Everything you submit is sent over HTTPS. It’s stored in an encrypted database. Access is limited to our internal recruiting and IT staff — no client, researcher, or third party has direct access to the database.

We don’t store passwords, payment details, or other sensitive credentials, so there’s nothing of that sort that could ever be exposed.

We don’t sell or share it

Your information is never sold, transferred, or given to a third party.

We are paid by our clients to recruit participants — not to collect or sell data. We have no business reason to share your information with anyone, and we never do.

You will not receive marketing emails, robo-calls, follow-up sales pitches, or any other contact from our clients as a result of signing up. The only contact you’ll get from Cypher Research is from our recruiting team, inviting you to a study you may qualify for.

SMS reminders

If you opt in to text reminders, we use them only for that.

Some participants opt in to text-message reminders for upcoming research appointments. If you do, your phone number is used only for those reminders and confirmations — never sold, transferred, shared, or used for marketing of any kind.

Your rights

You can opt out at any time.

Tell any recruiter on the phone to remove you, or reply to any email from us with REMOVE in the subject line. You’ll be removed from our system within 24–48 hours and you’ll never hear from us again.

If you want to update or correct your information, contact our recruiting team. (A self-serve sign-in for participants is coming soon.)
